Apprentice Teaching Assistant (Primary School) – Permanent Role

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Strood on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in education while gaining hands-on experience.
The role will involve working closely with the SENCO, providing support both in and out of the classroom, with a strong focus on supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support to the teacher across a range of subjects
- Work closely with SEN pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assist the SENCO with administrative tasks, including record keeping and tracking progress
- Support the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
- Help create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional support where needed
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have some previous Teaching Assistant experience (desirable)
- Have experience supporting SEN pupils
- Be organised and comfortable with administrative tasks
- Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting individual needs
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be eager to learn and develop within an apprenticeship role
