ROLE – Commissioning Engineer LOCATION – AWE/Hybrid DEPARTMENT – Engineering TYPE - Staff CLEARANCE – DV ​ ​ Working for NSG ​ NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG’s own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. Please only apply if you are eligible to obtain DV clearance and are happy to go through the process. ​ ​ The Role ​ To have responsibility for the commissioning activities associated with the delivery of the project for the assigned site, ensuring the delivery of the project in full compliance with the pre-determined standards of safety, quality, environmental and security and the conditions of contract. ​ Key Objectives ​ Project Delivery Input to the commissioning strategy and other high-level control documentation. Prepare documentation to support project delivery, to include: Control Plans Setting to Work documents Site Acceptance documents Inactive commissioning documents Method Statements Risk Assessments LTQR documentation Liaise with sub-contractors and suppliers to support the generation and review of: Control Plans Factory Acceptance Testing documents Setting to Work documents Site Acceptance Testing documents Inactive commissioning documents LTQR documentation Attendance at FATs ensuring that the supplier carries out the testing in accordance with the agreed test plan. Ensuring that the supplier’s equipment is installed as per the installation documentation and inspection has been undertaken to allow acceptance to proceed to Setting to Work. Witnessing Setting to Work and ensuring that the documented procedure is being followed developed and signed off. Liaise with the Client site commissioning manager Management of project engineers and technicians in support of StW, SAT and inactive commissioning activities Reporting any plant and equipment issues through to the NSG site Project Manager and support the rectification process in a timely manner. Ensure and promote effective communication and working between disciplines to support the overall delivery of the project objectives. ​ ​ Person Specification ​ Qualifications - Desirable Engineering Degree Higher National Certificate in Engineering Nuclear Triple Bar Membership of appropriate technical/professional body IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent- Desirable (relevant Training will be provided) ​ Experience & Knowledge Commissioning experience on a nuclear licenced site Supplier witness testing Experience of developing test documentation Well organised with the ability to work to timescales and demonstrate attention to detail. Routine recording and reporting of information both verbal and numerical ​ Skills & Abilities Competent user of MS Office Able to organise and prioritise own work ​ ​ Package Hours - 37.5 hours per week Overtime – 37.5-60hours per week – Time and half Overtime – 60 hours per week or Sundays – Double time Life Assurance 3x Salary Private Healthcare package Pension – Company contributes 5% Individual contributes 4% Discretionary bonus 187.5 hours per year holiday allowance Professional memberships covered Large Training and Development budge available. ​ ​ NSG Environmental are a Disability Confident Committed Employer
