People & Culture Business Partner Location: Wallasey, Merseyside or Manchester, Trafford Park (attendance at both sites will be required on a weekly basis) Salary: £39,000 to £53,000 depending on experience. About Us: Holiferm is facilitating the transition of the $42 billion surfactant market away from harmful, fossil fuel-based chemicals to biodegradable, sustainable biosurfactants. Our patented fermentation process with integrated gravity separation technology enables us to produce competitively priced biosurfactants at a commercial scale. Our mission is to eliminate the need for petrochemicals in the production process and provide our customers with 100% biobased formulations. We’re looking for a proactive Human Resources generalist who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. You’ll build strong relationships, drive employee growth, and shape a high-performance culture. With a passion for employee relations, policy development, and data-driven HR insights, you’ll play a key role in delivering a progressive and well-governed People & Culture experience at Holiferm. Key Responsibilities Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing expert guidance on complex people matters and fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture. Build strong cross-functional relationships to promote open communication and alignment with organisational goals. Support Learning & Development by using workforce data to identify skill gaps, shape development programs, and measure impact. Manage the full employee lifecycle, using analytics to continuously improve recruitment, onboarding, performance, and engagement. Ensure governance of people data and systems, maintaining accurate records and compliance with legislation, policies, and audit standards. Develop and review HR policies to ensure legal compliance, operational efficiency, and cultural alignment. Deliver data-driven insights through dashboards and reporting to support workforce planning and organisational effectiveness. Lead and contribute to people & culture projects, embedding best practices and driving innovation in people processes. Champion Holiferm’s values across leadership behaviours, employee experiences, and organisational policies. Qualifications & Experience Proven generalist HR experience is essential. Experience gained in science, manufacturing, or other fast-paced, innovation-led environments is desirable. Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations, with an initiative-taking, solutions-focused approach. Experience designing and evaluating Learning & Development initiatives aligned with business strategy. Analytical mindset with an interest in people metrics, dashboards, and people analytics. Skilled in policy development, governance, and audit readiness. Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills. Highly organised and detail-oriented, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement. Confident using AI tools and digital HR platforms to enhance efficiency and employee experience. Proficient in HRM systems and technology-enabled reporting and planning. CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) desirable; additional qualifications in data analytics, organisational development, or employment law are a plus. Holiferm is an equal opportunity employer.
