Join Bupa as a Supplier Relationship Manager. This is a permanent, full‑time (37.5 hours per week) role with hybrid working – up to 4 days per week from home – based at either Salford Quays, Manchester or Kirkstall Forge, Leeds. Salary is £52,000 – £65,000 per annum, with a 10% Management Bonus Scheme and a range of benefits.
Key Responsibilities
* Onboard suppliers post contract award, manage them against the Supplier Management Framework and maintain ongoing relationships.
* Lead governance review meetings with strategic suppliers to assess SLA performance, cost reductions, continuous improvement opportunities and service quality.
* Own and manage supplier risk profiles, conduct due diligence and assurance reviews, and resolve operational incidents with root‑cause analysis.
* Drive category strategy, collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders to innovate, improve efficiencies and generate additional value.
* Lead internal stakeholder reviews to identify business needs, translate them into supplier development plans, and prioritise continuous improvement initiatives.
* Develop and implement action plans for poor supplier performance, ensuring successful conclusions and handover to operational stakeholders.
* Conduct market scanning and benchmarking to monitor supply market trends and shape category strategy.
* Provide regular Management Information reports and updates to business stakeholders and accountable executives.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in contract supplier management and supplier assurance/audit.
* Knowledge of the FCA (SYSC 8/13) and PRA rulebook, and experience with outsourced service providers.
* Strong understanding of supply chain processes and improvement techniques.
* Professional procurement or risk‑management qualifications.
* Experience with risk‑management frameworks and compliance activities.
* Contract drafting experience with a focus on schedule terms and conditions.
* Commercial awareness and a record of value‑based delivery.
* Analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
* Excellent communication skills at all organisational levels.
* Ability to understand and communicate risk posture, potential impact and remediation paths.
* Practical knowledge of the relevant regulatory environment.
