Job title: Steel Work Quality Engineer
Salary: Up to £48,700 (dependent on skills and experience)
Responsibilities
* Carry out Surveillances, Audits, Process conformations and investigations as required
* Support the update of policy documents/User guides/MIS by attending reviews or First Articles
* Bring learning from experience from previous contracts to mitigate against quality escapes
* Document trends in Pareto Graphs to Identify opportunities for improvements
* Attend/lead on Fabrication and welding project reviews and improvement forums
* Create and deliver PowerPoint slides, construct toolbox talks and quality alerts
* Support Area/Ships leads by attending WSUMs (Weekly Stand-up meetings) and Daily Stand-up meetings and feeding back
Your skills and experiences
* Time served Fabricator/Shipwright
* Sound Knowledge of Building, Erecting and consolidating units and blocks
* Familiar with outfit and installation of seats and equipment
* Understanding Quality Assurance or Quality Control and the 7 quality tools

Team
Type T26 Platform Quality Assurance Team
Type T26 Platform QA are a multidisciplined team of 9 that include both, time served trades people and quality professionals. They are made up from mechanical, electrical and manufacturing backgrounds with a varied knowledge of the product. Working with manufacturing teams to identify potential quality escapes before they happen and facilitate improvements by carrying out audits as well as reviewing data from various sources such as QC RFT, Non-Conformance information & Program look ahead.
Due to the varied nature of the work, you will be expected to support all disciplines to gain knowledge and a broad understanding of end-to-end ship building which is coupled with the opportunities to train as a quality professional and gain qualifications as a Lead Auditor that will support your development and the potential move into a lead quality role.
