Our exclusive client is seeking a professional and readily available Payroll Manager for a full-time position, reporting to the Head of Payroll. This hybrid role involves on-site coaching with team members and some project lead responsibilities.
* Oversee the entire payroll process, including data input, calculations, and disbursements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all employees.
* Review and approve payroll transactions such as salaries, wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements.
* Stay informed about payroll laws, regulations, and compliance standards, including tax legislation, pension regulations, and statutory reporting obligations.
* Ensure payroll practices adhere to relevant laws and industry standards, mitigating risks and maintaining the company's reputation.
* Identify opportunities to streamline and automate payroll processes using technology and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Generate payroll reports and analytics to provide insights into payroll trends, costs, and variances, aiding decision-making and strategic planning.
* Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to ensure accuracy, addressing discrepancies as needed.
* Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure strong governance and controls within the payroll process.
* Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding payroll matters.
* Provide strategic guidance on payroll policies, procedures, and initiatives to support organizational goals.
* Coordinate and facilitate payroll audits, providing documentation and support as required.
* Implement audit recommendations and corrective actions to enhance payroll processes and controls.
You should have a solid payroll background, excel in stakeholder relationships, and be capable of managing a large-scale monthly payroll for over 900 employees. Experience with various bespoke and targeted payroll systems is advantageous.
* Deep understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance.
* Knowledge of payroll accounting principles and practices.
* Familiarity with payroll best practices and industry standards.
* Awareness of benefits administration and related payroll implications.
* Knowledge of UK labour laws related to pay, overtime, and employee classification.
