We are recruiting on behalf of a valued public sector client for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join their property and estates team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and improvement of public sector buildings and facilities that play a vital role in the community. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance works across a portfolio of public sector properties. Carry out regular inspections to identify and report on maintenance needs and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Liaise with contractors and internal teams to ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard. Maintain accurate records of works carried out, inspections, and safety checks. Support health and safety compliance by ensuring best practice is followed on all maintenance activities. Essential Criteria: Previous experience in a maintenance, building services, or facilities management role. Good working knowledge of building maintenance procedures and relevant legislation. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders. Willingness to undergo and successfully complete an AccessNI background check prior to starting employment. Desirable: Experience working within a public sector or local government environment. Relevant qualifications in building maintenance, construction, or facilities management.
