We are seeking to recruit Lead Nurse in Infection Prevention & Control to work across the breadth of NHS Lothian Services. We are looking for transformational leaders who are passionate about promoting high standards of clinical care and best practice and are motivated to join our highly skilled and highly regarded Infection Prevention and Control Team.
The function of the service is to deliver a comprehensive infection control service throughout NHS Lothian in order to minimise the risk of healthcare associated infection to patients, staff, visitors and others. As the successful candidate you will have responsibility for promoting and developing best practice in the field of infection prevention and control. You will provide line management in accordance with relevant employment policies for Geographical Leads and deputise for the Associate Director. You will have responsibility for the provision of NHS Lothian Infection Prevention and Control service provision across acute and community health services, including the adult care home sector. Providing clinical expertise and working in partnership with the wider multi-disciplinary teams and national agencies e.g. Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland, ARHAI Scotland and NHS ASSURE, you will play a key role shaping the development of strategy, policy and practice in relation to infection prevention & control, supporting patient safety through the reduction in healthcare associated infection.

Applications are invited from 1st level Registered Nurse/Midwife (current registration with the nursing and midwifery council) educated to degree level with a post graduate diploma in Infection Prevention & Control and able to demonstrate progress towards Masters. You will have significant infection control experience with a portfolio of evidence demonstrating knowledge in specialised field, as well as experience of both project management and managing a team.
