Sales & Estimating Manager – Structural Steelwork
Location: Huddersfield
Salary: £55,000–£70,000 + benefits package

It starts with relationships, understanding what clients need and knowing how to turn an opportunity into a project that works commercially and operationally.
This structural steel specialist has built a strong reputation for delivering complex steelwork packages and is now looking for a Sales & Estimating Manager to help drive the next phase of growth.
You'll combine business development with commercial leadership, building new relationships, strengthening existing ones and leading the estimating process from initial enquiry through to contract award.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being in front of clients just as much as they enjoy putting together a winning bid.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the estimating function across a range of structural steelwork projects
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, architects and engineers
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across target sectors
- Oversee the preparation of accurate, commercially sound tenders and cost estimates
- Negotiate bids, commercial terms and pre-contract agreements
- Support the handover of secured projects to delivery teams
What they're looking for
Must have:
- Previous estimating experience within structural steelwork or a related construction sector
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
- Proven experience developing client relationships and winning work
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and project specifications
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Track record of managing multiple tenders and deadlines successfully
Nice to have:
- Experience leading or mentoring estimating teams
- Existing network within the structural steel or wider construction industry
- Familiarity with CRM systems and digital estimating platforms
