About the role: Registered Nurse required for an exciting training opportunity in the field of Occupational Health. Devon and Cornwall and Dorset Policing Alliance are looking to recruit a Registered Nurse that has a keen interest in undertaking post graduate training in the field of Occupational Health. Occupational Health delivers high quality evidence based clinical advice to managers, staff and Officers of Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Police. The successful candidate will be offered an extensive training programme covering the full remit of the Occupational Health role. This includes but is not limited to: • Health surveillance for safety critical roles • Health screening • Immunisation programmes (co-ordination and delivery) • Venepuncture (co-ordination and delivery) • Management referrals into OH (becoming a case manager) • Advising managers and employees on fitness for work • Understanding legislative and national implications that affect the work of OH After a period of consolidation the successful candidate will have the opportunity of funding to study for the MSc Specialist Community Public Health Nursing degree which is a post graduate qualification at the UWE. Once the study is complete there is eligibility to be on Part III of the NMC Specialist Register. The study would be part time over 3 years with mentorship and practice assessor support. This is a unique time to join the Police. The Police Uplift programme has seen a new collaboration between the Government and Police working together to protect the public.
