Are you ready to inspire the next generation of engineers? DN Colleges Group is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Engineering Technician Instructor to support learners in our Motor Vehicle department. This is a hands-on role where you’ll guide students through practical learning, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed for success in the engineering industry.
You’ll work closely with curriculum staff to deliver high-quality instruction, maintain workshop equipment, and contribute to curriculum development and learner support. If you’re passionate about engineering and education, we’d love to hear from you.
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, you must have:
1. Recent experience working within the engineering or motor vehicle industry
2. A Level 3 qualification in your specialism
3. Ability to plan and prepare teaching resources and demonstrate practical techniques
4. Strong communication skills and a willingness to acquire new skills
5. Ability to carry out routine and planned maintenance of equipment
Key Responsibilities
6. Supervise and support learners in workshops and practical teaching areas
7. Provide guidance and conduct learner reviews onsite, online, and in the workplace
8. Maintain and modify equipment and resources, ensuring safety and suitability
9. Undertake stocktaking, safety inspections, and planned maintenance
10. Assist with curriculum development and departmental marketing activities
11. Support purchasing of services and supplies for the curriculum area
12. Attend team meetings and contribute to quality assurance and evaluation processes

Let’s Teach The LET’s teach programme supports new members of teaching staff in terms of college systems and key teaching and learning areas including new staff lesson visits and postcard peeps. Each new member of staff has an allocated Lead Practitioner who works closely with them throughout the programme.
Let’s Bloom
The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
