This is a split post where you will spend half of your time with the Pharmacy Paediatric Team and the other half with the Medicines Safety Team.
Please note this is a -month fixed term or secondment opportunity.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings or out-patient clinics as appropriate in order to provide pharmaceutical advice to prescribers and other health care professional within the paediatric directorate. They are expected to participate in clinical audit and quality improvement, and the development and implementation of treatment protocols and guidelines for use of medicines within paediatrics. Collaboration with the rest of the members of the clinical pharmacy team to support the strategic developments of the service electronic prescribing, improved discharge processes, accredited technician checking etc, will be expected.
As a key member of the Medicines Safety Team, involved in dynamic workstreams focused on optimising and improving the safe use of medicines throughout the trust. The role provides an opportunity to expand your expertise and skillset, to be involved in service development or improvement and to put your leadership skills into action in a supportive setting. The post holder should maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care, ensure timely, effective, communication with both the multi-disciplinary clinical teams and collaborators.
