Who We Are
Raise the Bar is one of the UK's leading leadership, management and people development companies, trusted by global brands to build capability at every level of their organisation.
We partner with some of the UK's most recognisable organisations to deliver impactful learning experiences, alongside representing over 700 of the world's leading speakers and thought leaders.
We are a high-performance, people-first business where results are recognised and rewarded - offering genuine autonomy, strong earning potential, and the opportunity to build a meaningful career.
Why This Role is Different
The apprenticeship market is evolving - and so are we.
While many providers are pulling back, Raise the Bar is investing in areas of the levy system where employer demand remains strong and closely tied to leadership capability, management effectiveness and people performance.
This role sits at the centre of that growth.
You'll be working with organisations that are actively looking to strengthen how they lead, manage and develop their people - using levy-funded solutions as a strategic tool to drive performance, not just a compliance exercise.
The Role
This is a new business role focused on opening, developing and winning relationships with employers.
You'll lead consultative, insight-led sales conversations with organisations looking to improve leadership, management capability and broader people development outcomes.
Rather than volume-based selling, you'll focus on building a targeted pipeline of high-quality opportunities, shaping solutions that align to client priorities and delivering long-term value.
What You'll Do
* Build and manage a new business pipeline, targeting organisations investing in leadership, management and people development
* Lead consultative sales conversations with senior stakeholders to understand business challenges, workforce capability gaps and people priorities
* Position apprenticeship programmes as part of a broader, outcome-led development solution
* Convert opportunities into high-quality, sustainable client partnerships
* Develop and deliver compelling proposals aligned to client goals and budgets
* Collaborate closely with Marketing to leverage campaigns, content and brand reach to support pipeline generation
* Work cross-functionally with Client Solutions, Operations and L&D teams to ensure a seamless client journey
* Maintain accurate pipeline and sales data to support forecasting and performance tracking
* Stay ahead of market trends and employer priorities across leadership, management and people development
What Success Looks Like
* Consistently building and converting a strong new business pipeline
* Winning new employer partnerships in a competitive but opportunity-rich market
* Delivering revenue growth through high-quality, outcome-focused sales
* Establishing yourself as a trusted partner on leadership, management and people development strategy
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience in a business development / new business sales role within the apprenticeship sector
* A consultative, solution-focused approach - able to sell value, not just products
* Confidence in outbound / proactive sales, with the ability to open doors and build relationships
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to navigate evolving market conditions
* Self-motivated, resilient and driven to succeed in a high-performance environment
* A strong network and ability to generate opportunities through multiple channels
What You'll Earn
* Base salary: £40,000-£45,000
* Realistic OTE: £60,000-£70,000+ (uncapped)
You'll be supported by a strong brand, high-quality content, and a clear focus on areas of the market where employer demand remains high - giving you the platform to succeed.
Why Join Raise the Bar
* A recognised brand in leadership, management and people development
* A future-focused market approach aligned to real business needs
* High levels of autonomy and ownership in your role
* A high-performance culture that rewards results
* The opportunity to be part of a business that is growing and evolving in the right direction
