We are recruiting for an IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The role requires an enthusiastic nurse with a sound vision of nursing and a commitment to provide best patient care. Knowledge and understanding of the types Inflammatory Bowel Disease and its symptoms is ideal but not essential.
As the post holder you will be expected to provide support and advice to our large cohort of IBD patients both face to face and over the telephone.
You will work within existing team providing continuity of care in a variety of settings, focusing upon outpatient and inpatient care and liaising with primary care teams. The post holder should play a significant role in patient care, communicating within the team and wider MDT and applying best practice. The post holder will be working under the supervision of the Lead IBD CNS and Band 7 IBD Clinical Nurse Specialists

Main duties of the job
Participate in the Nurse led IBD drug start-up and outcome monitoring clinics
Attend the IBD Multidisciplinary meetings
Report the Multidisciplinary clinical management of outcomes
Refer for Multidisciplinary Case Management discussions
Perform Direct Care in the infusion clinic’s
Provide IBD Patient Education
Manage IBD Telephone advice/consultations
Manage IBD email-advice/consultations
Ensure appropriate blood monitoring/treatment monitoring
Manage IBD Homecare clinical monitoring, prescription management & ICB reporting

Essential criteria
* Registered nurse on part 1 of the NMC register.
* Relevant clinical post registration education.
* Relevant degree or working towards Degree

Previous Experience

* Administering medications intravenously
* Patient assessment, clinical evaluation & monitoring
