Job Title: Head of Year

E‑ACT The Oldham Academy North is a dynamic and inclusive 11‑16 secondary academy located in Oldham.

We are seeking an exceptional non‑teaching Head of Year to lead and support a cohort of students, ensuring they thrive both academically and personally.


Key Responsibilities

* Lead on pastoral care, behaviour, and attendance for your year group
* Provide targeted support and early intervention for vulnerable students
* Work closely with families, external agencies, and staff to support student success
* Monitor student progress, wellbeing, and engagement
* Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe school culture


Pay and Working Hours

Pay range: SCP 22–27 – £31,919.14 – £36,201.36 | FTE: £33,699.00 – £38,220.00. 37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year.


Qualifications and Skills

* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
* Safeguarding training (Level 2 or above; Level 3 desirable)
* Strong experience in pastoral care, behaviour, or student support
* Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies
