As a top-25 engineering consultancy, Kier Design specializes in reimagining permanent designs, creating temporary works, and providing traffic management solutions. With access to Kier's impressive £11bn+ project pipeline, including mega projects like High Speed 2 and Hinkley Point C, you’ll be part of exciting initiatives across all sectors of the built environment.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Design Engineer, you will:
* Collaborate with the Construction Engineering team to deliver a wide range of complex construction engineering services.
* Lead the development of fee proposals and ensure technical requirements are fully understood.
* Organize and manage the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team.
* Oversee the production of design deliverables, including calculations, drawings, and reports.
* Identify and implement value engineering opportunities with the necessary approvals.
* Build positive relationships with clients and project teams to meet contractual obligations.
* Represent Kier at project meetings, managing financial and commercial aspects with support from the Engineering and Commercial Managers.
* Maintain project documentation and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
* Review monthly invoices and gather feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
* Have completed IEng Initial Professional Development (or CEng equivalent) with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE).
* Hold Level 6 or Level 7 qualifications along with significant relevant experience.
Working Conditions
Location: Bristol, South West England
Hours: 40 hours per week (some flexibility available)
