Job Title: Assistant Facilities Manager - Facilities Management
Location: Orkney
What you will be doing:
We are seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to join Galliford Try's Facilities Management team. The role involves supporting service delivery across multiple sites in the Orkney region, liaising with supply chain partners, ensuring health and safety standards, and assisting in project management and reporting tasks.
* Support and coordinate with supply chain partners and site operatives to meet contractual service standards.
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards, review contractor works, and monitor quality standards.
* Manage reporting of events and tasks, and oversee remedial actions.
* Assist in training new employees and provide cover during absences.
* Participate in project tasks such as reporting, lifecycle planning, onboarding new suppliers, and managing access to subcontractor portals.
* Administer COSHH requirements, manage stock levels, and handle electronic communications and administrative duties.
* Support invoicing, purchase order processing, and health & safety reporting.
* Maintain waste records and support engineering transport requirements.
About you:
* Excellent communication skills, highly organized, and able to multitask.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Flexible attitude, safety-conscious, and aligned with Galliford Try values.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and familiar with CAFM systems like Concept.
* Relevant experience in facilities management or related field; a degree is desirable but not essential.
