Job Summary
3 x CAMHS Primary Practitioner positions available with Wakefield CAMHS Single Point of Access (SPA). This role focuses on triage, early intervention and safeguarding for young people and families.
Responsibilities
* Triage calls, make clinical decisions and offer signposting advice to children, young people and families.
* Deliver brief targeted support through the 2+1 intervention pathway – one initial assessment and two focused sessions.
* Conduct safeguarding and risk assessment, make onward referrals internally or to external agencies.
* Collaborate with universal services, attend Primary Intervention Team meetings and promote user/carer participation in care planning.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and engage in continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered mental health qualification (e.g., RMN, CPN, SW, OT, or equivalent).
* Experience working with children and adolescents with complex problems and their families/carers.
* Classical understanding of multi‑disciplinary working, including training and consultation to professional carers.
* Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff.
* Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and practice.
Desirable
* Experience in universal services or networking between universal services and CAMHS.
* Experience in a Family and Systemic Team.
* Post‑qualification training in mental health therapy (e.g., CBT, Family & Systemic Therapy).
