Overview
The trust is looking for nurses or midwives who are passionate about Health Visiting or School Nursing. Successful applicants will be employed on a fixed‑term contract from September 2026 to September 2027, in a mid‑point Band 5 role, with the possibility of permanent Band 6 placement after the course.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme to children 0-19 within the NHS network.
* Conduct universal mandated contacts and packages of care based on evidence‑based practice.
* Collaborate with partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable children, formulate care plans, and complete agreed Child Protection outcomes.
* Engage with digital technologies to enhance service delivery and personal professional practice.
* Develop leadership skills during placements and transition into a specialist practitioner role upon completion of the course.
Qualifications & Experience
* Current registration with the NMC as a Registered General Nurse (RGN), Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), Registered Staff Nurse (RSCN) or equivalent.
* Post‑graduate degree (Master’s level) or relevant higher education qualification.
Desirable Experience
* Significant experience supporting children, young people and families, promoting health and wellbeing.
* Experience with multidisciplinary teamwork and complex child protection situations.

* Effective communication skills with staff, children, and families of all ages and abilities.
* Commitment to the Trust values and a willingness to adapt to change.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* IT skills including Microsoft Outlook and willingness to develop digital competencies.
* Ability to travel within the local geographical area to meet service needs.
* Understanding of Information Governance, Data Protection, and safeguarding frameworks.
* Knowledge of child protection policies, procedures, and legislation.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Applicants will be subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Salary
£32,073 to £39,043 per year, mid point Band 5 (£34,592).
