Overview
SEN Teacher (Maternity Cover) role at Oxford Outcomes. Location: Underley Garden School, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2DZ. Salary: Up to £41,000.00 per annum (DOE) + £1,000 Welcome Bonus. Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Contract: Fixed Term ending October 2026, Term Time Only. Start: October 2025. This role does not offer sponsorship.

Responsibilities
* Deliver creative and inclusive lessons across Key Stages 3–5.
* Develop teaching strategies that foster a love of learning.
* Support pupils’ personal, emotional, and academic development.
* Work with a multidisciplinary team to meet individual EHCP targets.
* Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and professionals.
* Contribute to the wider school life and ongoing development of the provision.
Requirements
* UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent – essential.
* Experience teaching children or young people with SEN, autism, or complex needs – desirable.
* Creativity, adaptability, and resilience in a specialist teaching environment.
* Team-focused mindset and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Underley Garden School is a large school with small class sizes, focusing on pupils aged 5–19 with complex needs including autism and learning disabilities. We offer a holistic, person-centred approach with education, care and therapy to meet individual requirements. Located near Kirkby Lonsdale, on the edge of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, within a commutable distance of Lancaster, Cumbria and surrounding areas. Note: 4DWW is subject to probation and is not a contractual benefit. You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay. Welcome bonuses paid after specific probationary milestones.
