We cater for young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and are committed to providing a supportive, structured and nurturing environment where every learner can succeed.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an educator who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who may have experienced barriers to learning.

About the Role

Deliver engaging, differentiated English lessons tailored to individual needs
Plan, prepare and assess work in line with curriculum expectations (up to GCSE Level)
Adapt teaching strategies to support students with SEMH needs
Build positive, trusting relationships with learners
Work collaboratively with pastoral staff and external professionals
Contribute to individual support plans and behaviour strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience working with students with SEMH, SEND, or additional needs (desirable but not essential for the right candidate)
Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
Be patient, empathetic and emotionally resilient
Understand trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches
Have high expectations while maintaining a nurturing and flexible approach
Show creativity in adapting lessons to re-engage reluctant learners
Essential Skills & Personal Qualities:

Confidence in managing challenging behaviour in a firm but fair manner
Ability to remain calm under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A consistent and structured approach to classroom management
Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
