At Quest Global, we are looking for LV Schematic Engineer (SME) to join our Energy customer team based in Staffordshire, United Kingdom.
Location: Staffordshire, UK
Contract Duration: 6 months
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
* Proven experience (8-12 years) in designing, developing, and implementing low voltage secondary systems for power distribution applications.
* Proficiency in Engineering Base software for creating engineering drawings and schematics.
* Experience in electrical control & protection cubicle design, low voltage secondary schematics, and wiring diagrams.
* Strong understanding of electrical principles, power distribution fundamentals, and low voltage equipment.
* Experience with protective relay coordination, arc flash analysis, and fault current calculations.
* Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, and NEMA.
* Project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and oversee the implementation of electrical control and protection cubicles for industrial applications.
* Conceptualize and detail cubicle designs using Engineering Base software.
* Design low voltage secondary systems, including transformers, switchgear, marshalling, distribution boards, control, and protection panels.
* Develop general arrangement drawings (GA) and layout designs ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
* Collaborate with electrical engineers and project managers to align designs with project goals.
* Conduct feasibility studies and propose optimized design solutions.
* Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and regulations.
* Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and technical documentation for cubicle designs.
* Maintain a clear understanding of electrical components and their usage in schematics.
* Stay updated on the latest electrical materials and incorporate them into designs for optimization.
* Support manufacturing and installation teams during production and assembly.
* Review vendor proposals and technical submissions related to cubicle components.
