Job Summary Assistant Accountant Office based | Hinckley We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant who enjoys getting stuck in and being part of the day-to-day heartbeat of a business. Reporting into the Office Manager, this is a hands-on role supporting accounting, finance, sales and warehouse activity. You’ll play a key part in making sure everything runs smoothly, from accurate financial processing to picking up the phone and supporting customers when they need it. This role suits someone who is AAT / ACCA part-qualified, or qualified by experience, with a practical, can-do approach and a genuine interest in understanding how the wider business operates. What you’ll be doing. This is a varied role where no two days look quite the same. Responsibilities include: Financial management & reporting Supporting bookkeeping and management accounts Analysing overheads and processing high-volume sales data Managing purchase orders and maintaining accurate financial records Producing daily and ad-hoc business reports Supporting external audits and leadership reporting Stock & operations Processing stock movements and intercompany transactions Liaising with European warehouses and Irish accountants Working closely with sales and warehouse teams to improve efficiency Accounts payable & receivable Raising sales invoices and allocating payments Completing bank and payment reconciliations Supporting B2B debt collection and chasing overdue payments Customer support & administration Ensuring timely invoicing and daily sales reporting Processing Amazon orders, disputes, courier claims and chargebacks Maintaining key customer and cashflow spreadsheets Handling customer orders and payments by phone and cheque Supporting imports, product authenticity testing and general office administration What we’re looking for: A sleeves-rolled-up attitude – you’re happy to get involved wherever needed Comfortable and confident speaking with customers over the phone Strong attention to detail with a well-organised approach A team player who believes in a whole-organisation approach to customer service Curious, proactive and keen to build knowledge of the company’s products and processes Someone who enjoys variety and taking ownership Why apply?
