Purpose of the role:
To ensure that the theatre sales function operates to a high level of efficiency and quality and to always ensure exemplary customer service. You will be the main point of contact for ticket sales via phone or in person. To provide administrative support for all customer facing activity.
* To maximise sales to individual customers and groups in person, by post, on-line and by telephone both inbound and outbound through the active promotion of the company's various ticket schemes.
* To maximise fundraising income through the active promotion of the company's fundraising ticket schemes
* To provide administrative support for customer facing activity across the company including but not exclusively, membership and supporter schemes, Northern Stage's café bar reservations, invoicing group bookings.
* To monitor public facing email inboxes, respond to queries, disseminate or escalate information as required.
* To ensure data collection is accurate, maintained and updated constantly
* To deal effectively and efficiently with customer problems and complaints
* To provide a professional welcome to the theatre for all visitors.
* To provide cover for external box office duties where necessary
* To cash up and ensure accurate reconciliation of sales at the end of each shift
* To participate in departmental and team meetings
* To ensure the Front of House, Box Office and reception areas are kept clean and tidy and presentable to the public including restocking marketing materials.
* To assist in the training of new staff members when appropriate
* To work with the Communications & Sales Team in the creation and implementation of sales schemes, public relations and customer care strategies
* To deputise for the Ticket Sales Supervisor as required.
Candidates should have demonstrable experience in:
Essential Criteria
* Previous experience working in a customer service role with a focus on sales.
* Confident and experienced using IT - using spreadsheets, email and word document software.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills via different channels e.g. face to face, over the phone, email.
* Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
* Good attention to detail.
* Commitment to delivering an accessible and inclusive welcome to Northern Stage.
* Passion and enthusiasm for arts and culture.
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience in a ticket sales environment.
* Previous experience using Spektrix (ticket booking CRM system).
* Previous experience providing professional administrative support.
