About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Manual Lathe Turner / Borer to join our precision engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality components and thrives in a hands-on, technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate manual lathes and borers to produce precision components to exact specifications.
Perform fabrication tasks, including milling.
Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Safely handle and store materials, ensuring warehouse organisation and stock control.
Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure consistent performance.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to identify and resolve production issues.
Maintain accurate job records, including materials used and work completed.
Apply basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.Qualifications / Experience
Manual lathe operation: 7 years' experience (preferred).
Proven experience in operating manual lathes and borers.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is advantageous.
Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for design purposes.
Experience in materials handling, tooling, and using hand tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with good communication skills.
