Hours: Part time, 2 days per week – Tuesday and Thursday, with potential to increase
About the role
We are recruiting for a part-time Accounts Assistant to support a busy finance team with day-to-day transactional and administrative duties. This is a varied role covering credit control, sales ledger support, reconciliations, and general finance administration.
The position may suit someone working as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Credit Controller, Accounts Administrator, or Bookkeeping Assistant who is looking for flexible part-time hours within a supportive team.
What you'll do
• Carry out credit control activity, including professionally chasing overdue payments
• Assist with sales ledger tasks such as raising invoices and allocating receipts
• Manage finance email inboxes and respond or escalate queries promptly
• Set up bank payments and support payment processing
• Match purchase orders to delivery notes and receipts to invoices
• Process credit notes and support bulk processing tasks
• Check corporate card and Barclaycard statements and identify missing invoices
• Manage petty cash and send customer statements
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team
What we're looking for
• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator, Credit Control, or similar finance support role
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks
• Confident written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
• Experience using MS Office and finance systems such as Sage or similar
Nice to have
• Experience using paperless or digital document management systems
• Background in high-volume invoice or transaction processing
