Our fantastic #TeamSBCSGalashiels in the Borders is seeking a friendly, patient, and caring new colleague on a permanent part-time basis (up to 35 hours per week).
The Role
You will join a close-knit, dedicated team supporting a young gentleman with complex care needs in his own home 24 hours a day. He leads an active life, participating in community activities such as swimming several times a week. He enjoys music both at home and in the community, and has a specially adapted bike for outings with staff. Every day brings new experiences! Confidence in swimming is essential, as the individual we support swims multiple times weekly.
About You
We are ideally seeking someone with experience in caring or supportive roles, capable of lone working and managing challenging behaviors. Successful candidates will receive training based on a detailed support plan created by a multidisciplinary team.
What we need from you:
* A caring attitude and approach
* A positive attitude towards learning
* An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
* The ability to cook
* Confidence using computers
* A valid driver's license is beneficial but not essential
Shift Patterns
We operate various services in the Galashiels area, including 24-hour and community support services, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Shifts vary depending on the service, with opportunities to work in 24-hour settings or less intensive shifts typically starting from 8am to no later than 8pm.

Successful candidates will need to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with our Training Academy's support. Registration with the SSSC within 3 months of employment is required.
