Field Service Engineer - South West
Job Description
The purpose of this Field Service Engineer role is to support the technical needs of Philips Imaging customers and customer service partners. You will work individually and as part of a wider team to install, maintain and repair our range of technologically advanced imaging equipment. Two positions are available in the South West district: one MRI‑focused role based around Bristol, and a second primarily Cardiff/Newport based focusing on Diagnostic X‑Ray and Image Guided Therapy.
Responsibilities
* Operate at an advanced technical level to provide expert advice and solutions to customers and colleagues.
* Provide field‑based and remote technical support in line with relevant training and experience.
* Carry out corrective, preventive, installation and field change‑order activities on complex healthcare systems.
* Diagnose mechanical, hardware and software system failures using established procedures and information.
* Determine the most cost‑effective repair or solution to minimise customer downtime.
* Actively participate in a 5‑by‑7 rotation with the Field Service Engineer team, offering direct remote support to customers.
Qualifications
* HNC (NVQ Level 3 or higher) or degree in electro‑engineering or equivalent (highly desirable).
* Experienced logical problem solver able to work independently.
* Experience with corrective and preventive works for imaging system devices and equipment (desirable).
* Ability to apply knowledge across multi‑modality and diverse product ranges.
* Adaptability to new technologies and daily challenges.
* Deliver high levels of customer service.
* Competency in IT/network diagnosis, system connectivity and remote service (desirable).
* Residing in the South West region, ideally around Bristol or Cardiff.
* Standard DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service) criminal record check required due to work in a healthcare environment.
