Job Title: Senior Buyer - Commodities
Contract: 12 months
Location: Gaydon (hybrid/2 days per week onsite)
Day rate: circa £290 inside ir35
This is a pivotal global procurement role, reporting to the Procurement Manager and holding end-to-end responsibility for specific commodities.
You will act as a central interface between procurement and multiple internal functions, ensuring sourcing strategies align with programme, cost, capacity, and quality objectives while representing the business professionally with suppliers and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Own and deliver Strategic Commodity Dossiers and Commodity Business Plans
2. Lead global sourcing activities through the Global Sourcing Process to contract award
3. Develop and run commodity strategies aligned to business, market, and supplier insights
4. Lead supplier negotiations, contracting, and supplier performance management
5. Drive cost target achievement pre- and post-contract award using TCO/TVO principles
6. Manage supplier relationships globally, including Supplier Business Reviews
7. Partner cross-functionally with engineering, finance, manufacturing, and programme teams
