You will play a key part in delivering strategically focused advice, supervising junior lawyers and contributing to business development initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, internationally recognised practice, engaging in challenging, high‑profile work while supporting the continued growth of the team.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage a varied and high‑value caseload of complex property damage, liability, and subrogated recovery matters.

* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory and market developments.

Required Experience & Skills

* 5+ PQE with admission as a solicitor in Scotland and a current practising certificate from the Law Society of Scotland.
* Strong technical knowledge of insurance law, coverage issues and dispute resolution processes.
* Proven ability to manage a complex, high‑volume caseload with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated experience acting for insurers, reinsurers or large commercial clients.
* Excellent drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and commercially focused legal documents.
* Strong advocacy, negotiation and analytical skills.
* Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior fee‑earners.
* Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on service excellence.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
* A collaborative working style with the ability to operate effectively within a busy, high‑performing team.
* Strong business development awareness and a proactive approach to contributing to team and firm growth.
