Join to apply for the Operator Maintainer (Mechanical) role at TieTalent.
We are welcoming 4 Operator Maintainers to run our state of the art tissue converting machinery, maximizing uptime, identifying faults, and rectifying interruptions/defects efficiently. This role requires hands-on mechanical expertise and a proactive approach to maintenance and production.
Responsibilities
* Operate an impressive range of tissue/paper converting machines, perform quality checks, and respond to product defects.
* Participate in machine setup, optimisation, changeover, and troubleshooting processes; mentor colleagues in these areas.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to new machine design, installation, commissioning, and product development.
* Support operator upskilling and cross-functional development.
* Assist with cost control, waste reduction, and maintain compliance with ISO9001 (QMS).
* Implement cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance strategies; troubleshoot issues to root cause and implement long-term solutions.
* Manage maintenance tasks and improvement projects using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and other planning tools.
* Note: this working environment can involve high temperatures and dust from tissue fibres; safety measures are in place to provide a safe working space with a zero-harm commitment.
Requirements
* Mechanically-minded with relevant skills, able to read and interpret engineer drawings, and take a problem-solving approach.
* Focus on continuous improvement and ongoing development in production, maintenance, and teamwork.
* Fully qualified in NVQ Level 3 or 4, or hold an HNC/HND in Mechanical Maintenance.
* Safety conscious and able to conduct equipment guarding and lifting checks; critical thinker.
* Fully indentured (Mechanical and Electrical) apprenticeship with relevant role experience is preferred.
* Bonus if you have experience implementing TPM, Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or other Business Improvement tools.
