Job Description
The Role
Working within the Environmental Protection Team, you will handle a varied scope of activities including investigations into complaints related to noise, statutory nuisances, anti-social behavior, environmental crime, pest control, and drainage issues. You will support air quality improvements and private water supply regulation through sampling, monitoring, and inspections, depending on training and experience.
This regulatory role requires a strong understanding of regulatory principles, including issuing warnings, legal notices, civil penalties, and preparing court cases.
Engaging effectively with communities, supporting all members with empathy, and aligning with the council’s core values are essential. The role demands excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, tenacity, and a commitment to delivering quality, customer-focused regulation to improve communities and the environment.
This is a permanent position based at Morecambe Town Hall with hybrid working options. The standard hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional early mornings, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and overnight stays for training.
We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work, flexi-time, and collaborative scheduling to promote work-life balance.
