PCS7 OR PlantPax - Batch Process

Automation Business Lead

Option for car allowance post-probation

Salary is Negotiable with Experience & Bonus Structure

Options for Lower Base with Higher Bonus OR Higher Base with Lower Bonus

Bonus is Uncapped - expect to earn c£150k+

A unique and exciting opportunity for a Lead Automation Engineer to launch an established business into the UK. You will start as the sole UK-based Engineer with EU & International support, developing software for blue-chip customers in the FMCG sector and actively developing the business.

Automation Business Lead - The Role:

1. Design and program automation control system hardware and software using Siemens DCS, PLC, HMI & SCADA
2. Develop technical documentation for control systems including safety, FEED studies, specifications, design, testing, and operations manuals
3. Engage with clients to understand their technical needs and develop strong relationships
4. Carry out installation and commissioning activities
5. Lead teams of engineers and technicians
6. Travel and work at overseas project sites as required

Automation Business Lead - The Person:

1. Solid experience with industrial automation systems
2. Experience designing and implementing PLC Control Systems in sectors like Food, Beverage & Personal Care
3. Extensive knowledge of Siemens PLCs/HMI/SCADA, specifically S7-300/400/1200/1500
4. Strong ability to program EITHER PCS7 OR PlantPax for batch processes
5. Experience with safety systems, relays, and safety PLCs
6. Knowledge of Profibus, ProfiNet, and Modbus protocols
7. Experience building and troubleshooting LAN/WAN networks
8. Familiarity with IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 standards
9. Ability to develop technical documentation like FDS, FAT/SAT, O&Ms
10. Experience across the full project lifecycle from design to commissioning

We welcome candidates with contacts in the sector, sales, or team management experience. This role offers the chance to shape and grow an established UK business, providing turnkey solutions to blue-chip clients.

Experience with batch process automation and either PCS7 or PlantPax is ESSENTIAL for consideration. The company is a €200M turnover business, known for winning business through word of mouth.

The role is initially home-based, with plans for an office in the South West, West Midlands, or North West, depending on the candidate's location. Flexibility for c20-30% international travel, including initial training in the EU & China, is required.

Once settled, you'll have the opportunity to recruit and train additional Control Engineers to build your team. This is a rapidly growing and successful business.
