Social Worker – Children & Family Team
Working Pattern
Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office
Job Purpose
* To deliver high‑quality social work services to children and families within the Children & Family Team
* To safeguard and promote the welfare of children through effective assessment, planning, intervention, and review
* To work collaboratively with families and partner agencies to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of approximately 18 children, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care cases, with some court work
* Undertake timely and robust assessments in line with statutory guidance and local procedures
* Deliver evidence‑based interventions that improve outcomes for children and families
* Engage directly with children through face‑to‑face visits, ensuring their views and wishes are central to decision‑making
* Prepare high‑quality reports and documentation for meetings, reviews, and court proceedings
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to develop and implement effective care and support plans
* Maintain accurate and timely case records using provided digital systems and technology
Essential Requirements
* Social Work England registration
* Proven experience working within Children & Family social work teams
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding practice
* Experience managing CIN, CP, and CIC cases, including court‑related work
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
