Mechanical Design Engineer : Defence Sector

What You Will Do
* Deliver stress analysis, fatigue assessments, and structural design calculations:including nonAEUR'linear FEA:to guarantee the integrity and performance of bridging products.
* Develop comprehensive test specifications, acceptance criteria, and technical reports that satisfy customer, industry, and legislative requirements.
* Manage both internal and external engineering activities, carrying out detailed design reviews and ensuring full compliance with manufacturing and quality standards.
* Work directly with customers to clarify scope, confirm deliverables, and manage project plans, workload distribution, and resource requirements.
* Investigate and resolve issues relating to nonAEUR'conforming components, leading root:cause analysis initiatives and driving continuous improvement across processes and products.
* Interpret design criteria and ensure all engineering outputs align with relevant standards, codes, and technical specifications.
What You Will Bring
* A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, accompanied by Chartered status with a recognised engineering institution.
* Deep understanding of structural behaviour, material science, and proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS.
* Strong working knowledge of Eurocodes, fatigue evaluation methodologies, and structural integrity assessments.
* Experience with aluminium and steel fabrication processes, as well as interpreting and creating detailed technical documentation.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling, simulation:led design validation, and handsAEUR'on familiarity with strain gauging techniques.
