Position Overview
As a Service Controller, you will lead a team of engineers, ensuring that our customers receive the highest standard of service. Your role will be pivotal in optimizing resources to meet customer needs efficiently while maintaining our reputation for excellence.
Your Responsibilities
Major Job Functions:
* Understand and respond to customer requests, prioritizing their needs and allocating the right resources.
* Plan jobs to maximize engineer productivity and manage job progress effectively.
* Open and close work orders accurately to ensure timely billing and address safety reworks.
* Keep all systems updated with accurate job information and load trial data.
* Mentor and manage a team of 4-8 engineers, addressing performance issues and providing guidance.
* Ensure adherence to service processes for extraordinary customer service delivery.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office and good IT skills.

Desirable Knowledge:
* Advanced engineering aptitude.
* Knowledge of gas and diesel engine products.
* Familiarity with mobile and fixed equipment components and systems.
* Experience with relevant applications and systems (e.g., DBSi Work order system, SAP).
* Understanding of warranty and commissioning processes.
Qualifications
* Foundational engineering understanding and qualification.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical or mechanical engineering role.
* Previous experience in a similar role within the industry is desirable.
Accountability
* Keep customers informed of job progress, ensuring commitments are met.
* Ensure the health and safety of engineers and support staff during tasks.
* Maximize customer revenue and control service expenses.
* Manage approximately 100 work orders with an average value of £300k per month.
* Ensure adherence to First Time Fix and response times.
* Communicate effectively with the Service Supervisor regarding any issues.
Working Conditions
Enjoy a flexible working pattern between 7 AM – 6 PM on weekdays, with potential Saturday shifts as needed. This position is office-based, providing a collaborative environment.
