We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Front of House / Barista to join our team and help us continue to deliver a 5-star customer experience
The Role
As part of the Shielings team, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, preparing high-quality coffee and drinks, and ensuring the smooth running of front-of-house operations. You must be proactive, able to use your initiative, and equally confident working independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver warm, friendly, and professional customer service at all times
* Prepare and serve barista-quality coffee and other beverages confidently
* Take customer orders, process payments, and manage till operations
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café and front-of-house area
* Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment
* Uphold food safety, hygiene, and service standards
* Manage tasks efficiently both in busy rush periods and quieter times
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality and enjoys creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
Essential Requirements:
* Minimum 4 years' hospitality/café experience (front of house and barista)
* Strong barista skills with proven experience using professional coffee machines
* Customer-focused, friendly, and approachable attitude
* Ability to work flexibly across weekdays and weekends
* Highly proactive, with initiative to manage tasks independently
* Team player with excellent communication skills
Desirable:
* Local to East Kilbride or nearby areas
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Positive attitude and a genuine enjoyment for working in hospitality
