Children’s Activity Coordinator

Job Title: Children’s Activity Coordinator
Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Salary: Pro-rata to £1,239.69 based on £26,000 full-time annual equivalent
Hours: Monday – Friday, between 8.00am – 6.00pm (18 hours per week)
Contract: Part-time, Fixed-Term, 6 weeks (14th July – 15th August) + 3 hours evaluation during w/c 18th August

Black Country Living Museum is seeking an enthusiastic Children’s Activity Coordinator to develop and deliver innovative, inspiring, and fun holiday club activities for 7–11-year-olds. If you have experience of developing activities for children and would like to work in a museum or are looking for something inspiring over the Summer, then we’d love to hear from you!

What will you be doing?
• Planning, developing and delivering the Children’s Activity Programme, ensuring it is fun, engaging and suitable for a variety of audiences.
• Briefing colleagues and working together to co-deliver the programmes.
• Collaborating with teams to ensure programmes align with the creative brief, engage the target audience and are commercially viable.
• Assisting in evaluating the impact of the programmes by collating feedback and performance stats for reporting.
• Identifying resources and equipment for purchase, ensuring they are well-maintained, organised and well-stocked.

What are we looking for?
• Experience of developing and delivering activities for children that are fun, engaging and meet the needs of diverse audiences (including SEND).
• Experience of working with teams to develop ideas and deliver tangible outputs.
• Ability to work independently, organise and prioritise workload.
• An engaging communication style which is appealing to children aged 7-11.
• Commitment to diversity, equality, inclusiveness and making the museums accessible to all.
• A willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check.

While we aim to be flexible with training dates, the successful candidate must be available for all nine fixed holiday club dates, which cannot be changed. You will be required to work on the following days from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

• Week 1: Wednesday 30th July, Thursday 31st July, Friday 1st August.
• Week 2: Wednesday 6th August, Thursday 7th August, Friday 8th August.
• Week 3: Wednesday 13th August, Thursday 14th August, Friday 15th August.
• Flexible development for a total of 36 hours between 14th and 29th July.
