Main duties of the job
As a Maintenance Operative, your focus will be to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking routine maintenance tasks, checks to services, and applying basic fixes to equipment and systems while ensuring facilities are fully functional. Other responsibilities include carrying out general maintenance and repairs, supporting new residents with their room arrangements, undertaking routine re-decoration, advising on supply and quality of items, and providing out-of-hours emergency service.

About the role
Your focus as a Maintenance Operative will be to ensure the building and grounds are well maintained, undertaking routine maintenance tasks, checks, and basic repairs to equipment and systems, ensuring facilities are fully functional.
Other responsibilities include:
* Carrying out all general maintenance tasks and basic repairs, including electrical, plumbing, joinery, and building tasks inside and outside the Home.
* Supporting new residents to arrange their rooms.
* Ensuring routine re-decoration is undertaken as required to maintain standards.
* Advising on the supply and quality of items used for tasks, ensuring timely and appropriate ordering of replacements.
* Providing out-of-hours emergency service and participating in the on-call rota.
About you

Our ideal candidate must:
* Have at least one year's experience in a maintenance or handy person role and/or hold a relevant professional qualification.
* Hold a full driving licence.
* Have knowledge of Health and Safety, including Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
* Be adaptable and flexible to cover various responsibilities at short notice.

This role requires:
* An ADBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
