WOOD GREEN ACADEMY is seeking to appoint a dynamic, committed, and well-qualified teacher of Science (Biology or Physics preferably) to take on the Leadership of Progression in Science ( yrs 7-9)
As an academy, we are over-subscribed and consistently achieve some of the highest results in Sandwell. In February 2020 the school was judged by OFSTED to be GOOD. We are extremely proud of being one of few secondary schools in the country to have been graded as outstanding for behaviour and attitudes. This standard was maintained in our recent OFSTED inspection of April 2025.
We have an excellent location being less than 15 miles from the centre of Birmingham whilst having excellent national links via both the M5 and the M6.
As an enthusiastic and committed leader, you would join a welcoming, highly trained, and very supportive Science department. The department is led by the Head of Science who is supported by the Head of Chemistry, the Head of Physics and the Leader of progression in Science. The department has also great experience in successfully mentoring both ITT trainees and ECTs.

Wood Green Academy is a large 11-19 multicultural comprehensive school set in Wednesbury in the heart of the Black Country.
