The post holder will be working with a large multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, psychotherapists, and creative therapists. The team consists of approximately 42 wte split as 34 wte clinicians and 8 wte admin staff. A number of staff are trained in CBT, theraplay, and family interventions, parenting, and attachment work. There is a dedicated ADHD diagnostic and treatment team.
The service receives approximately 3704 referrals per year, new and re-referrals, and 2933 records where a referral allocation exists for 2022. All new cases are seen first by one of the Multidisciplinary team for a mental health assessment. Following this, the young person may be seen for a secondary assessment by a psychiatrist where there are concerns e.g., eating disorder, psychosis (Under 16 year), moderate or severe depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, severe self-harm, or complex cases. In all cases where a psychiatric opinion is sought, the cases will be brought to one of three Multi-Disciplinary (MDT) weekly meetings.
The service has a CAMHS Learning Disability pathway and psychiatry input on the pathway is provided by a CAMHS LD Consultant.
Main duties of the job
It is expected that the Consultant will have approximately 2-3 patient-related contacts per clinical session. These may include review appointments (face to face or remotely), therapeutic treatment appointments, Multiagency meetings or CPA reviews, consultations with other clinicians or professionals about specific patients, and clinical supervision regarding specific patients.
Our offices are at Kimberworth Place (Rotherham), The Crystal Building (Doncaster), and St Nicholas House (Scunthorpe). The majority of non-remote clinical work will be done from these bases. Other clinical work may be carried out in a variety of settings including other clinics, Children Centre's, GP surgeries, and in hospitals.
Cases are triaged by a multi-disciplinary duty team who aim to see all cases that are urgent within 24 hours and routine cases within three weeks. The service also provides a range of brief interventions and a range of specialty teams including Eating Disorders Team; Looked After Children; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; ADHD; Family Therapy and Art Therapy. There are approximately 120-140 referrals managed in this way per month.
The psychiatric input includes consultation in complex cases, assessment, and treatment on a range of diagnoses including eating disorders, depression, severe anxiety, OCD, and psychosis up to the age of 18 (psychosis beyond the age of 16 is covered by the Early Intervention in Psychosis Psychiatrist).

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full registration with the GMC
* Must be on the GMC Specialist Register for CAMHS or a trainee within six months of completing their CCT
* MRC Psych or equivalent higher qualification
* Management qualification, other professional qualification, e.g., CBT, Family Therapy
