Maintenance Operative

Speedwell Court is a beautiful, purpose-built home that provides an exclusive setting and high quality residential and Dementia care to its elderly residents. Staff are committed to looking after the health and wellbeing of residents. This includes providing a range of activities to get involved with, serving delicious, nutritious meals and providing a high standard of care and support to residents.
This role is based on a full-time contract of 40 hours per week. Ideally this will include alternate weekend shifts.
Some main duties of role:
1. All repairs are carried out effectively and quickly, and to a good standard.
2. Work is carried out safely, with adherence to relevant building and construction related regulations.
3. Readily identifiable issues are reported and addressed to minimise impact, risk and damage.
4. Grounds and gardens are kept neat and tidy.
5. Report any emergencies to Property Services
6. To complete and maintain the day-to-day repairs and maintenance of the building and its environment. This will include painting and decoration to residents’ rooms.
7. To ensure strict confidentiality in all matters
8. Minor adjustments to windows, doors, restrictors and door closers
9. To maintain the day-to-day repairs and maintenance of the buildings and their environment
10. To ensure all relevant documentation is kept up to date and completed.
About You:
11. As the Maintenance Operative at Speedwell Court, you must have good general property maintenance knowledge and skills, and experience in providing maintenance services to other clients.
12. Be able to communicate and interact well with people, be able to read and write to a good standard, and computer literate.
13. Have good knowledge of relevant health and safety and trade regulations and have the ability to assess and manage risk.
