Clinical Governance, Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Facilitator
Areyou a senior nurse with a strong understanding of, interest in and experienceof governance, who is passionate about improving patient outcomes and experiencesin an inclusive way? You willwork within the Service Effectiveness Team, collaborating directly with theLead to promote continuous quality improvement. Thiswill support the organisations compliance with the requirements ofthe NHS Patient Safety Framework and the regulatory requirements set out by theCare Quality Commission. You will be responsible for supporting the ongoingdelivery and strengthening of the organisations Patient Safety Plan and willprovide clinical scrutiny, effective support and a skilled and experiencedperspective to the already established YH incident reporting and management framework. You willalso ensure robust service user engagement is embedded into improvementactivity, supporting services to implement meaningful and workable patient andservice user centred changes developed collaboratively with YH Members, ourPatient Safety Partners and the community.
Main duties of the job
Supportorganisational CQC readiness and help ensure compliance with all relevantgovernance, assurance and regulatory requirements.
Provideclinical oversight to patient safety incident reporting, review, learningresponses and safety actions, promoting a non blame, learning focusedculture.
Contributeto the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, ensuringthey are meaningful, accessible and aligned with national standards.
Supportthe delivery of quality improvement activity, helping services identifyissues, measure impact and implement sustainable, system focused improvements.
Ensureinclusive and robust service user engagement is embedded across governanceand improvement work, informing service development and decision making.
Workcollaboratively with teams across the organisation to provide a skilledand experienced clinical perspective, supporting safe, effective andpatient centred care.
Supportthe generation of clear, accurate information for internal and externalgovernance reporting, including progress updates, themes and learning.
You will be central to strengthening a culture that maximises what goes right, rigorously identifies and addresses system vulnerabilities, and continuously reduces the risk of things going wrong across the organisation.

* To have knowledge and experience of supporting and coordinating quality improvement activity using adaptive, inclusive non -judgmental and accessible approaches
* To have experience of working with governance processes within a health organisation
* To have experience of effectively communicating in a range of styles and through a range of mediums
* To have experience of managing non- clinical staff but highly knowledgeable staff.
* To have experience of writing reports, presentations, audits and policies.
* To have experience of running teaching sessions and facilitating workshops
* To have experience of completing clinical audits and creating SMART action plans that have led to quality improvements
* To have experience of incident reporting and handling
* To have experience of analysing quantitative and qualitative data to support the generation of themes
* To have comprehensive experience of working within the Microsoft 365 environment
* To have experience of working to set time frames
* Experience of patient engagement activity
* Experience of project management
Qualifications
* To hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent
* To have significant and relevant experience of working frontline, holding supervisory responsibilities
* To hold a clinical nursing qualification
* To have completed Patient Safety Level 1 and 2 training
* To have attended leadership training and hold an equivalent qualification
* To have attended facilitation training and hold an equivalent qualification
* To have completed Patient Safety Incident Investigation training
* To hold a teaching/ training qualification
Skills and Abilities
* To understand key legislation and regulation: Patient Safety Framework, Accessible Information Standard, Data Protection, Equality Act, GDPR, CQC
* To be able to analyse and digest a range of information from a range of sources to support the development of workable plans that can be implemented across a range of systems in an adaptable, inclusive and accessible way
* To possess a very high quality, straight forward and accessible communication style, that facilitates the creation of useful learning forums, documents and reports, with a great attention to detail
* To have the ability to work collaboratively and autonomously with appropriate levels of escalation to a lead
