The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and committed individual to join the Tameside Libraries Information Service team to work on the Build a Business in GM Libraries project. BAB is a business support programme delivered across all Greater Manchester library authorities to assist start-up businesses and new entrepreneurs to develop the insight, skills and confidence they need to start and grow successful businesses.
The project delivers tailored workshops, networking events, 121 business information support, and access to business and intellectual property information resources, working collaboratively with a range of local and regional partners. It is led by Manchester Libraries Business and Intellectual Property Centre.
The role is shared with another 18-hour SME Officer covering a temporary decrease in hours within the service.
About You
As SME Officer for Tameside Libraries, you will help plan, coordinate and deliver all the project activities across Tameside library service. These will include marketing, SME outreach, monthly workshops, providing 121 support, record keeping and administration and producing reports following the project monitoring systems. Partnership working with other TMBC services and local partners is very important. The role will also require practical knowledge of the library service’s collections and resources for business, including COBRA (the Complete Online Business Reference Advisor).
Our ideal candidate will be very customer focussed with excellent people skills and confident in delivering support; a good level of ICT skills; experience of marketing and promotion, including effective use of social media
