Our client, a successful privately owned business, is seeking a Financial Controller who can bring rigour, influence, and commercial clarity to a growing organisation.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial governance, improving reporting quality, and supporting strategic decision‑making. This is a broad, high‑impact position suited to someone who enjoys both the technical depth of finance and the interpersonal influence required in a senior leadership setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts and year‑end financial statements
Manage the audit process and liaise with external auditors
Oversee VAT, HMRC submissions, and compliance requirements
Maintain and improve financial controls, processes, and reporting standards
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
Oversee payroll and ensure accuracy and compliance
Provide financial insight to senior leaders and challenge assumptions where necessary
Drive continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
Requirements
We’re looking for a qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong grounding in accountancy practice, particularly in preparing accounts for audit and managing compliance.
