Job Summary
37 hours per week. We are looking for an innovative, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Community Resource Team, delivering short‑term assessment services to adults in the Bridgend County Borough.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy input to the Support at Home enabling home care service, working alongside Social Care Workers to give professional guidance and evidence‑based interventions.
They will deliver short‑term OT interventions to support people to remain independent in their own homes and will hold a defined caseload that promotes independence and quality of life.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential: planning and managing time efficiently, ensuring completion of both clinical and non‑clinical tasks, responding flexibly to the service needs, and maintaining effective workload management.
They will work efficiently and pro‑actively as part of an integrated health and social care team that provides interventions to people in their homes.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Qualifications & Requirements
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
Ability to conduct a basic conversation through the medium of Welsh is a requirement.
An Enhanced Adults Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is required.
Enthusiastic, imaginative, and able to problem‑solve in a community setting, utilising a broad range of OT skills while working closely with people who have a wide range of disabilities, their carers and families.
