Overview
An experienced operational professional is required to lead the delivery of a social housing maintenance contract. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient management of service operations, driving performance, compliance, and profitability across all areas of delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee the effective management of service operations, optimising resources to achieve contractual requirements.
* Develop and implement robust policies, procedures, and processes to maintain service excellence and operational efficiency.
* Collaborate closely with the commercial team to meet financial performance targets set during monthly and quarterly reviews.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of managers and operatives to deliver consistently high performance and customer satisfaction.
* Identify and pursue opportunities for new business while maximising potential within existing client relationships.
* Manage overall operating and capital budgets for the assigned contract, ensuring financial control and profitability.
* Deliver services in line with tender assumptions for turnover, gross margin, and site profit.
* Maintain clear communication channels with clients and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on KPIs and contract performance.
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards.
* Support contract mobilisation and ensure smooth transition and delivery from inception to completion.

Team Structure

* 4 direct reports (Managers)
* Approximately 10 operatives/works coordinators (WC)

Skills & Experience

* Strong operational management experience within social housing maintenance or property services.
* Proven ability to manage large budgets and deliver profitable results.
* Excellent financial and commercial acumen, with experience in pricing and cost control.
* Good understanding of legislation in housing maintenance and property management (preferred but not essential).
* Knowledge of Best Value principles and delivering quality service outcomes.
* Experience with contract mobilisation and performance management via KPIs.
* Understanding of Schedule of Rates (SOR) codes and housing sector procurement processes.
* High level of SHEQ awareness and compliance understanding.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

* Must be based in Crawley or surrounding areas.
* Full UK driving licence required.
