Overview
Lightfoots Solicitors is looking for a Conveyancing Paralegal / Assistant to join the Residential Conveyancing Team in Princes Risborough and Marlow. This is an office based role and can be based from our Princes Risborough or Marlow office (or a mix of the two offices). The role provides comprehensive administrative and legal support to the Fee Earners in the team, with potential study support and future progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting Fee Earners with the day to day running of files
* Taking initial instructions from clients to produce quotes
* Opening new files using our Case Management System
* Preparing files for Fee Earners (e.g., chasing clients for documentation, ensuring ID checks are undertaken, funds on account)
* Drafting Contracts and preparing/sending Contract Packs
* Conducting legal research
* Carrying out pre-completion checks, exchange letters, etc. after exchange of contracts
* Handling post-completion work (redemptions, SDLT forms on HMRC Portal, applications to HM Land Registry)
* Closing files and managing account balances
* Assisting with general calls and visitors to the office when required
What We’re Looking For
* Previous experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
* Preferable minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role or conveyancing
* Knowledge of conveyancing would be desirable
* Strong IT skills and proficient in Microsoft Office
* Solid written and verbal communication skills
* Proactive with the ability to handle a busy workload
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
