Annual salary period; closing 21/06/2026 23:59.</p><h3>Job overview</h3><p><b>Recruiting for a training course in September and October 2026.</b></p><p>As a health adviser you will be the patients’ first point of contact, using your skills and specialist computer software to assess symptoms and provide reassurance and help.</p><p>You will receive comprehensive, paid training (nine weeks full time) and, upon successful completion, be offered a permanent contract.</p><p>After 18 months as a Band 3 Health Advisor you will automatically progress to a Band 4 Enhanced Health Advisor, subject to meeting the required criteria. Additional duties include coaching less experienced staff and supporting Team Leaders in the call centres.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><p>You will be part of Yorkshire Ambulance Service’s highly skilled, dynamic team and will assess and negotiate to ensure the best patient care and outcome – no two calls will be the same.</p><p>The role is demanding and may not be for everyone; you will encounter a wide variety of patients, including emotionally charged situations.
