About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Field Service Engineer to handle installations, user training, and service & maintenance activities for our clients in the Yorkshire Region. Occasional national and international travel may be required. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment within the Print on Demand industry, including photocopiers, colour laser/inkjet printers, production printers, and digital presses (Fujifilm, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Xerox, Sharp, Canon). Excellent customer service and communication skills, along with a willingness to learn new and emerging technologies, are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Repairs: Office printers and photocopiers
Installation and Maintenance: Production printers
Additional Activities:
Smart locker installations and maintenance
Troubleshooting and repair of retail equipment
Installation of technology kiosks, including self-service technology
Car parking & access control systems
Call progress updates via smartphone
Adherence to service level agreements
Accurate tool and part management
Essential Skills
Experience with production printers and digital presses (e.g., Fujifilm, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Xerox, Sharp, Canon)
Background in the office equipment industry
Strong technical skills in electronics and mechanics
Proficiency in IT, including networking devices and setting up scanning functions
First-class customer service with previous customer-facing experience
Education and Experience
Good standard of secondary education
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Certification in Mechanical and Electrical/Electronics
Ideally, an IT or engineering qualification
